Sometimes, you come upon simple places selling simple food, and find a small piece of deliciousness. The food may not be the best in the world, but you just have fond memories. This humble little place in Melaka is one of them.
It’s an easy place to miss. A literal hole in the wall. We were walking along Jalan Hang Kasturi, when we noticed it.
Something drew us in. Inside, there was this old world charm.
The aged stove, the tiled walls and mosaic floor, something just told me that here, you will find simple soul food like your mother cooked at home. Its kinda like, just homely enough.

But its good, wholesome, simple stuff.
We were there for breakfast, so we kept it light. I loved their porridge:
It looks a little plain here, but it was delicious, with minced pork, which they pressed into little disks and cooked into porridge.
The Bee Tai Mak with meat sauce was very very good.
A rich meat sauce, on the springy noodles, accompanied by a little bowl of soup with meat and fish balls.
And that is all we had room for. But I will be back, the next time I make the trip up. Check them out too.
